What is a ceilidh?
Well, as far as Pandemonium is concerned, a Ceilidh is a Barn Dance and furthermore, a Barn Dance is a Ceilidh.
Ceilidh is a Gaelic word (pronounced ‘kaylee’) and is often used to describe traditional social dancing where a caller takes the dancers through the moves before the dance starts, and reminds them what to do during the dance as well. The dancers don’t need any dancing experience and so the atmosphere is always full of laughter and fun!
Pandemonium has a full repertoire of ceilidh dances and tunes. We have a caller, our own PAT-tested sound system (PA) and public liability insurance. Our caller is particularly good with inexperienced dancers (or non-dancers) and children. And in-between dances, we can play some tunes for you to listen to as you catch your breath!
